1| Daily Cleaning Tasks

I try to keep my house at a certain “clean” level. This level is different for everyone and their homes. And your tasks could look completely different from my tasks. The goal here is to pick what you want to be done and to be consistent with them

The Daily Cleaning Tasks are like habit tracker tasks, that I wanted to make sure I do every day to maintain the house. I added things like making the beds, touching up the bathrooms, tidying different areas of the house, etc.

An important thing to note about these tasks is that these shouldn’t take you a lot of time to do. You want these to be quick 5 minutes or less to “re-set” a certain space. We don’t want this section to be overwhelming or we won’t do them.

Weekly Cleaning Tasks

Next, is the week A and week B cleaning. I have a bi-weekly cleaning schedule. I clean one floor of the house one week and the second floor the following week. This way it’s not too overwhelming but each area is getting cleaned once every 2 weeks.

Then I separate the cleaning by rooms. For me, I like seeing a finished product, so when I clean by rooms. Each room will be cleaned from top to bottom. That way when I’m done, I’m done cleaning that room for 2 weeks.

Monthly Cleaning and Organizing Tasks

I like to break things down to manageable chunks that take little pockets of time rather than one whole day. In the planner and in SHM, I provide monthly cleaning and organizing tasks for one area of the house. Last month we were tackling the kitchen and this month we’re tackling the pantry!

This last week things I had in this section were deep cleaning the coffeemaker, the dishwasher, oven, hood, and under the fridge. Things that I don’t clean super often.

This has been so helpful in keeping all the tasks in order! It’s all separated but on the the same page so I can see everything at a glance. The best part, I’m doing double of the same thing!
