Where have I been?! Well, I am currently in the middle of getting my kids birthday party together! My second child to be exact!
Summer is here and I hope you are having a great summer break with your kiddos! When June/July hits, I have to start getting into gear on planning another kids birthday party! My little one Emmy is turning 3 this year, and I just can’t believe it. I seriously can’t believe it! Time has flown by so incredibly fast.
So while I am in the midst of getting her party together I thought I would share a few easy ways to stay organized while planning your kids birthday party!
Oh and by the way I have a Hello Kitty Birthday Party post too, if you want to check that out!
So here are my 5 Easy Ways To Stay Organized While Planning a Kids Birthday Party
1 | Organize birthday party thoughts and ideas on Pinterest
Emmy wanted a Winnie the Pooh themed birthday party. (Which is really serendipitous how the new Christopher Robin movie is just coming out, I had no idea!)
So my first go-to for ideas is always Pinterest. There are so many amazing posts, pictures, and ideas you can get from Pinterest about anything!
Here is a link to my Pinterest Board for this party, if you’re interested!
When I am pinning things onto my board, I am not holding back. Anything and everything that I find is going onto this board. Even things that looks outrageous.
2 | Narrow down from there what would work best for your location and time frame
Okay at this point, you have a ton of things on your Pinterest board. Now you have to take into consideration how much time you have to get this party together, that will completely change the scope of what you can do.
And what ideas will work with where you’re having the party. I’ve always had the girls’ birthday parties at our house.
Except now that Jadyn is older and in school-school, we had her party at a place of her choosing because it’s way too many kids for my house! Lol
3 | Party Planner Checklist : get guests, food, timeline, all in one place

4| Evite for kids birthday party invitations
In the past, I would hand make the girls’ invitations. We would pick a template, buy the paper, and I would spend hours getting this cute little invitation together. Not anymore.
If you’ve never used e-vite before it’s the most amazing online invitation tool. You can email or text the invite to all your guests. There are so many templates that you can choose from, all for free!
When planning a kids birthday party, this saves so much time and energy, which we’ll need for the party right?!
5| Delegate some of the work!
I’ve somehow always tried to do it all. The cake, the food, cupcakes, cookies, decorations, setting up, and whatever else. I wanted my girls’ to love every second of their party from the moment they see it until it’s done.
I’ve gotten so frazzled, so behind, and upset because I couldn’t do it all, and i couldn’t deliver on time, or it didn’t turn out and look how it was supposed to.
If there is something that you’re good at, by all means do what you love. If there is something that you hate doing, can you hire that out? Can you get more help from the store? Is there a simple caterer around that you can get food from? Do you have a family member that is amazing at decor that would love to help you out?
Reach out to people, because there are so many out there that are always willing to help!
It’s taken me a while, but delegating tasks is essential in order to not turn into momzilla. Reach out to people, because there are so many out there that are always willing to help! Click To Tweet
