Before we completely get started with cleaning, I wanted to first go over what I consider the 3 pillars of home management. These are organization, tidying, and cleaning.
1| ORGANIZING: Organized VS. Unorganized
– do your things have a home/ a place where they belong?
– things are just thrown wherever because there is no spot for them
2| TIDYING: Messy VS. Tidy
– Toys are left/put away, beds unmade, papers floating around, etc.
– All items that are left out are put away
3| CLEANING: Dirty VS. Clean
– dust bunnies hiding, bathroom spots, rings, etc.
– everything is sparkling clean and vacuumed and smelling fresh
Throughout the day, your house will go through cycles of highs and lows of each of the 3 pillars. That’s why you have systems in place to keep it all at a maintained and sustainable level without going crazy!
Your house will never be 100% of all 3 pillars at all times. You might barely get one to 100% only to have it messed up in 10 minutes. And that is okay!

In other words, organizing gives all of your stuff a home. Tidying is a recurring task of putting your items away. Cleaning is where you are kicking the dirt, dust, grime, and germs to the curb!
Today we are going to tackle the tidying category.
There are 2 key times in the day that tidying comes into play. Of course you can do it more frequently throughout the day if you are home most of the day, but if you work out of the home, these 2 key times will give you the most bang for your buck.
The first key time to do a quick tidy in the morning and this is what I can a “Morning RE-set”.
Here is a small snapshot of some of the things I make sure to get done some time in the morning. It’s usually around 9:30 after we get back from dropping of our big at school.
What is the point of all this?! This looks like so much work right?!
So the main idea is, after all these tasks have been completed you’ve re-set the main parts of your home, so they’re ready to go for you for the rest of the day!
In today’s morning re-set:
1| I made my bed,
2| Made my daughter’s bed,
3| Touched up the master bathroom,
4| Spot cleaned the girls’ bathroom,
5| Touched up the powder room.
This took me a total of less than 18 minutes!
I hope this helps you with your morning re-sets. If you’re able move around quickly, these things don’t take that much time!
Let me know in the comments below, are you ready to re-set?!
