Today I wanted to share a quick tip of something I just started doing to keep track of expiration dates! It is the simplest way to keep track of beauty products expiration dates!
Now, I just got a new face cream when I was at the SPA a couple of weeks ago. Normally when you get beauty products there is a little jar image on the back of the product with the number of months it’s good for.
Different products will have a different amount of months in which you should throw it away after opening the product. I’ve seen it range from 12 months to 24 months.
>> WATCH THIS VIDEO << TO LEARN HOW:
This particular face cream had 12 months on the back. So this means, since I opened it on February 18th, that February 18th of 2019 I should toss it becuase all of the active ingredients won’t be as effective then.
But even as of right now and months down the road, I’m not going to remember the date that I actually opened it.
KEEPING TRACK OF THE EXPIRATION DATES:
I had these Jot circle label stickers laying around that I bought from the Dollar Store for a garage sale that we had last year to write prices on. There are 315 circle label stickers per box. I had a ton of stickers left over.
I thought it would be a neat idea to take one sticker and wrote the date that I opened the item and stick it on the bottom! I will always have a reference of when to toss it!
ORGANIZING DOESN’T HAVE TO BE EXPENSIVE
I think a common misconception when it comes to organizing, is that it is really expensive to get organized. However, basic organization can be really simple and cheap.
Here are a few tips to start organizing on the cheap:
- Shop around your house first! I’m sure you have a ton of containers, labels, and baskets that are laying around your house right now.
- Get a little creative! I’ve used old cell phone boxes as organizers in my drawers,
- Trade with a friend! Do you have something that a friend needs or vice versa? Have a mom swap!
Light bulb moment….host a mom swap party! Have an excuse to throw a little party. Enjoy some wine and snacks while you “shop” each other’s stuff!
