In this post, I’m sharing with you how to fold a flat sheet and a fitted sheet. Plus, how to create a sheet bundle that you can store in your linen closet!
Do you ever get frustrated with trying to fold sheets and put them away! They are crazy and definitely can cause a lot of frustration if you don’t know how to fold them properly.
Once I show you how to fold them, it’ll get easier and quicker for you each time you do it!

I do want to warn you, it’s so hard to describe all the steps, so I created a video for you to watch!
HOW TO FOLD A FLAT SHEET
To fold a flat sheet,
No matter what size sheet I have, I always start with finding the top of the sheet, which usually has the edge detail. Then find the corner. Once you have the first corner follow that edge to the end of the sheet.
Grab the second corner of the sheet and fold the two in half meeting the two corners together, with the edge detail out.
Then with your fingers pinching that corner, use your other hand to follow the edge of the sheet to grab the next two corners. Fold in half again.
From here I usually lay it down on the bed. You should have a rectangle shape at this point.
Next, I will fold is sheet into thirds lengthwise (into a skinnier rectangle) and leave it on the bed like this for the outside of the bundle
HOW TO FOLD A FITTED SHEET
To fold a fitted sheet
Folding a fitted sheet seems like it’s hard but once you get used to it you can do it so quickly. What I like to do is find two corners and where you’ll find this is that stitched seam.
Stick one hand inside where that seam is.
Then you’ll take your other hand and actually go inside out with the other seam. Bring them together and tuck the inside out hand under the original one so both corners meet up and line up.
You’re going to do the same thing with the other side and then bring all four corners to meet each other.
Once they’re all tucked in you will see that it’ll kind of fold on itself naturally. This will make kind of a makeshift rectangle/square.
Fold it in half lengthwise and then fold it in half again.
You’ll end up with this skinny but long rectangle. Bring in one side to fold in thirds and then fold over one more time.
CREATE A SHEET BUNDLE
Put the fitted sheet in the middle of the flat sheet set that we aside earlier. Add folded pillowcases on top. Just like the fitted sheet we will take one side and fold it a third and this will cover the pillowcases and the fitted sheet. and then fold it over one more time.
The best part of creating a sheet bundle is that when you go to make your bed everything you need is together and ready for you. Also when you’re storing it in your linen closet it looks clean and put together.
Is this how you fold sheets? If not, try this out and let me know how it goes for you!
