Simple Easter Craft Idea

We did such a simple craft this year I just had to share! It took about 5 minutes and the girls’ loved it!

I was searching on Pinterest for Easter crafts and came across this one from Parenting.

I thought the easiest way to achieve this was with a stamp pad. So we headed on over to Joann’s craft store. They had a 50% off sale on stamps and pad going on. If you were not able to get in on this sale, you can always use their 40% off coupon. Or Michaels, Or Hobby Lobby ;). The stamp pad came to $3.49 for 5 colors, which I thought was a pretty good deal. We can always reuse it for projects and crafts later on.

You also need white cardstock paper (which we already had), and a black sharpie.

We used pink for the bunnies, yellow for the chicks. A thumbprint for the bunnies since they are a little bigger and the pointer finger for the chicks.

Let them dry for a couple of minutes and draw in the details, and “hoppy easter” at the top! There you have the cutest, simplest, Easter craft!

So cute right?

Quick and easy Easter egg ideas!

  • Grab a muffin tin preheat your oven to between 325 – 350F. Bake for 30 minutes. Put them in an ice bath afterwards until cooled.

I’ve never tried this method myself, I’ve heard that they come out perfectly but the taste can be a little different.

  • The method I use:

We have an egg cooker that we purchased from Bed Bath and Beyond. It cooks 7 eggs at a time. The thing that’s great about this is you can choose between hard boiled, soft boiled, and poached, You do have to poke a little hole at the top of the egg.

It takes about 10 minutes to cook and the eggs come out perfectly every time. I just run them under cold water and let them sit in an ice bath for a few minutes after as well.

  • The old fashioned method is just to place eggs in a pot, then fill it with cold water. Bring it all to a boil. Once the water is boiling, turn the heat off, place the cover on and let them sit for around 15 minutes. Then you want to put these guys in an ice bath as well.

Easter Basket Ideas

Our Easter baskets are not very extravagant. I don’t like using Easter as an excuse to buy the girls an excessive amount of toys and candy.

I always try to make sure I have the items below for a perfectly well-rounded basket:.

Craft

Grow

Treats

Games

Coloring

Clothing

Small toy

And of course grass and plastic eggs for effect!

What do I put in Easter baskets?

I reuse the same baskets every year. They haven’t caught on that the Easter bunny asks for the basket back. 🙂

This year I did most of my shopping at Target, the Dollar Store, and Joanns Craft Store.

I found these awesome little planters that contain watermelon seeds, strawberry seeds, and plant seeds. I know the girls will love to plant these in the yard and watch them grow!

They gotta get some treats right? I try to limit myself on the candy, But they love it! I put some in the eggs too.

Games to play. I found some super cute ones at the Dollar Store that I’m sure will be a hit. Great for car rides too!

My girls’ love to color and draw. I found cute little doodle pads and Target that they can easily carry around with them or keep in the car for when inspiration strikes!

Is it just me or am I the only one that loves putting my kids in matching outfits! I will look for a shirt that is available in both their sizes. Target or Carters is usually my go to. They both have super cute options that are pretty inexpensive. Last year I found matching sweatshirts that were perfect for spring in the clearance section at Carters. I think it was like seven dollars each. Such a great deal!

I will add a toy of some sort in there as well. The thing is, I know what’s going to happen on Monday. Everything from the basket will be everywhere, not picked up, and not played with.

The challenge..

It’s hard because there is a fine line between them being happy and thankful and going overboard where they just expect it. I want them to have everything they could ever want or need but at the same time understand that they don’t really need everything to be happy.

That having a few key essentials, is better than having an overflow that just overwhelms you in the end.
