You know how you start organizing something, then stop halfway through?
OR start cleaning a spot in the house, then get sidetracked and leave that spot to work on a different one?
Don’t you hate that? Lol
In this post I’m sharing with you how I separate my cleaning tasks and rooms by day and into the different cleaning weeks.
If you aren’t familiar with my cleaning system, you can check out this post here.
But to give you a quick recap, I separate the month and tasks into bi-weekly cleaning.
Dividing the tasks into Week A and Week B
Week A is my cleaning week. This is where the majority of my time (naptime for my daughter) is spent thoroughly cleaning different areas of the house.
Week B is what I call touch up cleaning. These are spot treating areas that need a quick clean but I don’t need to go into
Examples of this are bathrooms, floors, and vacuuming.

How I separate my cleaning tasks
There are quite a few cleaning schedules online these days that have cleaning days separated and categorized by tasks. Monday would be dusting, Tuesday floors, Wednesday bathrooms, etc.
That is not how I set up my cleaning routine.
I clean, basically, by rooms.
Why would you clean by room?
Short answer: I like to see a finished space. ..even if it gets “messy” 20 minutes later! Lol
I feel like cleaning by tasks never get you a complete clean. You only get a piece at a time.
Cleaning by room gets you from a dirty room to a clean one. And you can see the difference and the change, and that’s where my motivation comes from.
